Is Centred Stage only for performers?

Absolutely not! Centred Stage was created to assist those who work in all facets of the arts industry. Whether you are a singer, sound engineer, musician, mechanist, prop maker, puppeteer, dancer, dome operator, or anything in between, Centred Stage can help.

What are your qualifications?

I have completed a Graduate Diploma of Counselling and Graduate Certificate of Coaching - both with the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP).

Upon completion of these courses, I became a member of the Australia Counselling Association (ACA) and the International Coaching Federation (ICF) respectively. Both memberships require regular supervision, continual personal development and the maintenance of professional skills through ongoing education.

Additionally, I obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2001, as well as my ‘personal’ qualifications of nearly 20 years experience in professional theatre, film/tv and live music.

I am also a qualified Mental Health First Aider, a volunteer Ethics teacher, a member of the MEAA Equity Wellness Committee and a proud member of Equity since 2003.

Are your counselling and coaching sessions face to face or via zoom?

Currently, Centred Stage offers sessions via zoom only. I hope to offer face to face in the near future.

What is the difference between counselling and coaching?

Although both counselling and coaching strive to help clients be the best versions of themselves, they are very different.

Counselling is a client-lead talk therapy that focusses on how past experiences or ways of thinking may be contributing to present challenges, difficult emotions or the inability to cope.

Coaching encourages coach and client to partner together to focus on the client’s present situation to create personal or professional goals, increase potential and achieve more in the future.

Can I receive both counselling and coaching?

Is your type of coaching considered life coaching?

Although coaching assists clients achieve more in their life generally speaking, I would not describe the type of coaching offered by Centred Stage as ‘life coaching’. My qualification has its roots in scientifically backed and peer-reviewed executive coaching.

What do you charge?

Both counselling and coaching sessions are $120 for 50 minutes.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel your appointment 24 hours or more before your session time, reach out and we can reschedule.

Unfortunately, there are no refunds for any cancellations within 24 hours of your session time.

Do you accept Mental Health Treatment Plans?

Unfortunately counsellors do not currently accept Medicare rebates or Mental Health Treatment Plans in Australia.
