Services
The challenges of working in the performing arts sector require specialised support.
I offer counselling and coaching services, as well as a mentoring program for emerging artists, but what are the differences between these services and what's right for your needs?
Counselling
What does counselling for the performing arts look like? Ultimately your journey is your own and we will work together to map out your individual path to wellness, but it may include dealing with any of the following: - Anxiety – casting, auditions, stage fright - Triggers – past experiences that may have become stressors and barriers to success - Negative thought patterns and unhelpful self-talk - Resilience – coping with the realities of insecure employment; it is possible to learn how to find value, strengths and even joy in the face of factors out of our control - the dreaded imposter syndrome - for those just starting out, learn how to navigate the industry We will work together to uncover the root of issues, understand the causes, and provide tools to identify, address and manage them. My approach is both integrated and person-centred and may include the following tools and techniques: - CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) - ACT (Acceptance Committment Therapy) - Solution Focussed Therapy
Coaching
In coaching I can assist you in setting goals to realise your full potential. This applies directly to your career in the performing arts but it also provides skills that can be utilised in all facets of your life. This may be done through the exploration of your values, beliefs, wants and needs, and how they tie into both your short term and long term goals. My approach is both integrated and person-centred and may include the following tools and techniques: - CBC (Cognitive Behavioural Coaching) - ACC (Acceptance Commitment Coaching) - Strengths Based Coaching - Solution Focussed Coaching
